Healey Dam at Ossett was the latest venue to be fished by Wakefield A.C. from the club programme, 19 anglers turned out including a couple of fresh faces.
The lake had been a little patchy and no one knew what to expect, so most took a steady approach to get the feel.
Winner on the day was Gary Hampshire from peg 26 with a weight of 14lb. 7oz. which included five Skimmers to a pound, a pound Tench and the rest made up of small Roach and Rudd, all of which were taken on maggot and pinkie over two lines of chopped worm and the other with groundbait. Second was Kevin Orwin with 13lb. 8oz. who had a slow start on peg 3, but had a magic last two hours taking Skimmers, Roach and Ide on worm and pellet baits. Third was Andy Beech who weighed 13lb. 3oz. which was made up of a large Carp and four Bream all taken on pellet and worm baits of peg 9.
