Wakefield Angling Club is a member of the Aire and Calder Navigation Angling Association and members can fish this water free of charge. The waterway runs from Great Heck (exit 34, M62 ) through Pollington, Cowick, Rawcliffe Landing and on to Goole Docks.
The waterway is about 40 metres wide, 2 metres deep on the near shelf and about 4 metres deep down the middle. The water holds good stocks of Roach, Perch and Skimmer Bream and fishes extremely well during the winter months for Roach especially opposite the boats at Pollington.
